If we look back, then it is clear that only a few particular people could receive education in those days and hence it was limited in a particular group of people. This paper is an attempt to explain the ancient Vedic system of education in brief on the one hand and to enlighten the ancient education system which was prevailing in India on the other hand. The Vedic system of education is famous and very old/ancient system of education as we know. Here the question arises: Is there anybody who can say when did this Vedic system of education started in India? It is very difficult to reply this question as there is no definite and distinct answer to this question. According to some scholar in Hindu valley, Aryan culture and civilisation has been formed before 1000 B.C. From that period of time the Vedic system of education has constructed and based on their social and spiritual life. There is no question of doubt that the Hindu civilisation had been influenced by religious beliefs. Accordingly, the education system also influenced by religion too.
